    Chad M. Gentry

I received my degree in finance and accounting from the Oklahoma State University. After spending several years working in banking, investments and financial planning for corporations such as Norwest Bank (now Wells Fargo), Sun Life, and Founders Mutual Funds, I developed a strong desire to help people with financial education. Having personally counseled thousands of families, I am still passionate about helping people through financial hardships. With over 13 years in the industry I am excited to share in the success of Community Credit Counseling Services. My hope is that through financial education we might create a stronger and more fiscally fit community.

I am originally from Peru, and I joined CCC in March 2011. I hold a degree in Economics as well as Post Graduate Studies in Statistics from Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.  My main goal as a Bilingual Credit Counselor is to help the low-income Hispanic population of Colorado to become financially educated. Though my work, I hope to provide individuals and families the tools necessary to develop and implement a financial wellness plan aimed to achieve their financial goals.  Before joining CCC I worked as a Life Skills Coach in a Transitional Housing Program for domestic violence survivors in Front Royal, Virginia.  As part of my work, I assisted my clients to develop the skills to achieve economic security and economic independence.  In Peru, I worked for six years as a social researcher, analyst and evaluator for different social initiatives conducted by international nonprofit organizations, like the Water and Sanitation Program, and by the Peruvian government (Ministry of Agriculture).  When I am not working, I love to hang out with my family (especially with my cute little son), cook Peruvian food, read, and watch classic movies.

I joined CCC in 2009 as Program Director. Prior to joining CCC, I worked in the domestic and international microfinance industry for more than six years, most recently helping launch ACCION New Mexico’s expansion into Colorado. My management experience includes four years as ACCION Chicago’s Vice President/Director of Marketing and Lending.  My work with ACCION’s small business clients taught me the importance of unbiased financial advice and counseling based on individual personal situations.  At CCC we provide this trusted guidance to hundreds of individuals and families every month.  I hold a BA in Business/Economics from Wheaton College in Illinois and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. I’m originally from Minnesota and I currently live in Evergreen, Colorado with my husband.  Outside of CCC, I like to spend time cooking, hiking, and training for half-marathons.

I joined CCCS in 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. As a counselor, I provide an enriched and supportive environment for our clients as they move through their financial journey while facilitating them to become advocates for themselves. I work directly with the Debt Management Program client base as well as helping to support our Bankruptcy and Credit Education Programs. Outside of CCCS, I love to play sports, read, and most of all spend quality time with my husband, young daughter and our families.

I moved to Colorado in 1995 as an AmeriCorps*NCCC member, after receiving my bachelor’s degree in Business Management from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I gained diverse experience with AmeriCorps in a variety of management roles, and developed tremendous partnerships with non-profit agencies across Colorado including Mile Hi Youth Corps and Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver, Catholic Charities and several other organizations. My experience also includes hiring and directing teams of volunteers from 25-300 people, managing $500,000 grants, and developing community partnerships.  I am honored to have Co-Founded Community Credit Counseling Services, which is now a cornerstone in the financial community.  Outside of CCC, I love the outdoors, running and cooking, in addition to raising three beautiful girls.

I joined Community Credit Counseling Services in the spring of 2007, where I am inspired to help my clients make sense of their finances. My goal with every client is to provide simple, helpful advice to make progress towards their financial goals. A committed “non-profiteer”, I have over 10 years experience in Denver area non-profit agencies, including 6 years managing volunteers at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science. When not working, I enjoy gardening, reading, film and volunteering with my favorite charities.

I joined CCCS 6 months after my arrival in the US from Argentina. I am enthusiastic about working in a Customer Service position that allows me to practice my degree in Social Communication from Universidad Nacional de Cordoba, as well as to brush up on my English. As a Customer Service Specialist, I’m thrilled to support clients in every step they take to achieve financial stability. I gain satisfaction from getting the tiniest detail right because this can make all the difference to a client.  Also, I’m really committed to share with Denver’s Hispanic community all I’m learning. I used to work as a High School teacher, and therefore appreciate CCCS’ passion for financial education. When I’m not working, you will find me hanging out with friends, watching a foreign movie, reading, or enjoying a hike in Colorado’s beautiful landscapes!

After receiving my masters degree in nonprofit management from Regis University, I joined Community Credit Counseling Services.  It was a perfect fit since I had been working with low income families and had recently been a money manager for seniors.  As a bankruptcy counselor, my primary goal is to determine if a client should file for bankruptcy or if there are other services they may be able to obtain first.  While going over their situation I always try to understand what they are going through, provide encouragement and education for the future and let them know they can contact our office if they need us.  When I am not working I can be found gardening, cooking, involved in church activities, and taking care of my family.

I bring 7 years of banking experience to CCCS. I was a founding member of the Latino Chamber of Commerce and have sat on various non profit boards in our community. I am currently working towards my degree in Marketing and Communications. My passion is serving the Hispanic community, especially educating and helping this segment of the community understand their finances and how the financial world operates. I am excited to continue this passion with CCCS. Outside of CCCS I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, scrapbooking and cooking.

I joined Community Credit Counseling Services in 2004, starting as a Creditor and Client Relations Specialist.  I quickly earned my AFCPE certification and progressed to a full-fledged credit counselor, and later the Program Director. In 2009 I decided to go back to school and finish my degree in Psychology. At this time I work part-time as a Bankruptcy Counselor, and teach the pre- and post- bankruptcy classes. I have lived in Colorado for most of my life and love that I can wake up every day and see the mountains.
